Lavern Bird accepts CNO position at Central Community Hospital

Central Community Hospital CEO Brooke Kensinger is pleased to announce Lavern Bird has accepted the CCH Chief Nursing Officer position.   Lavern brings over 25 years of experience in nursing, administration and management.  He is extremely passionate about nursing and the patient/family experience.  He is familiar with critical access hospital operations as he ran Mercy Medical Center Dyersville for many years.

Lavern’s specific competencies include: nursing leadership, implementing strategic objectives, operational efficiencies and improvement in patient and staff satisfaction. He majored in Nursing at UW-Madison, has a Masters in Healthcare Administration from Cardinal Stritch University, and an MBA from the University of Dubuque.

Lavern lives in Guttenberg with his wife, Karen.  He has four daughters as well as four grandchildren.
