New Nursing and EMS employees of Central Community Hospital attended courses that certified them in ACLS and PALS. ACLS stands for advanced cardiac life support and PALS stands for pediatric advanced life support. The American Heart Association publishes both classes. The courses are aimed for paramedics, nurses, healthcare providers, and other healthcare personal who would be in contact with patients who would need advanced life saving measures. These classes taught about current treatments and guidelines in regards to cardiac resuscitation, stroke care, and pediatric emergencies. Both courses included concepts of chest compressions, rescue breathing, and use of proper medications with the use of videos and hands on simulations.
